Yes. I take your privacy very seriously. Our session content and all relevant materials to your treatment will be held confidential unless you request in writing to have all or portions of such content released to a specifically named person/persons. Limitations of such client held privilege of confidentiality do exist and are itemized below:
If a client threatens or attempts to commit suicide or otherwise conducts themselves self in a manner in which there is a substantial risk of incurring serious bodily harm.
If a client threatens grave bodily harm or death to another person.
If the therapist has a reasonable suspicion that a client or other named victim is the perpetrator, observer of, or actual victim of physical, emotional or sexual abuse of children under the age of 18 years.
Suspicions as stated above in the case of an elderly person who may be subjected to these abuses.
Suspected neglect of the parties named in items #3 and # 4.
If a court of law issues a legitimate subpoena for information stated on the subpoena.
Occasionally I may need to consult with other professionals in their areas of expertise in order to provide the best treatment for you. Information about you may be shared in this context without utilizing identifying information such as your name.

While therapy can take on many forms, modern counseling often does not require interpreting ink blots or laying on a couch - unless of course you’d prefer to lie down!
You can either do telehealth sessions from the comfort of your own home (or car/office/etc.) or come into my office, located in the Roland Park neighborhood of Baltimore, MD.
Your initial session will be 60 minutes in length and consist of an evaluation including reviewing history, presenting concerns, current symptoms, and treatment goals. Scheduling future sessions will depend upon whether your needs can be adequately and ethically addressed. If your needs cannot be addressed by me (Noelle Benach, LCPC), then you will be referred to other providers.
Standard individual therapy appointments are 45 minutes in length; additional time may be scheduled as needed with therapist ahead of time for an additional charge. If you are late for your appointment, your session will not be extended and will still end at its normal time. This allows me to ensure that we are both honoring the boundary of time, and ensures that I do not run late for subsequent client sessions.
I reject the one-size-fits-all approach to therapy and instead work with you to cultivate a personalized space for processing, venting, healing, and (when you’re ready), change and growth.
We will focus on your specific goals such as (but not limited to) building self-awareness, increasing confidence, learning new coping skills, improving your relationship(s), decreasing symptoms of anxiety or depression, expanding happiness, and other things as you take on the modern stressors and challenges that this life provides.
At the end of each session, we will discuss scheduling subsequent appointments, process payment, and discuss any applicable “homework” or resources which hopefully promote continued awareness or growth in between our sessions.

Your initial couples/relationship work session will be two to three hours in length and consist of an evaluation including reviewing both relational and individual history, presenting concerns, contextual factors, and counseling goals. Scheduling future sessions will depend upon whether your needs can be adequately and ethically addressed. If your needs cannot be addressed by me (Noelle Benach, LCPC), then you will be referred to other providers.
Standard couples therapy appointments are 90 minutes in length; although less or additional time may be scheduled as needed with therapist ahead of time for a pro-rated fee. If any member of the couple/relationship is late for the appointment, the session will not begin until all relevant parties are present. The session will not be extended due to client lateness and will still end at its normal time. This allows me to ensure that we are both honoring the boundary of time, and ensures that I do not run late for subsequent client sessions.
If you are participating in Telehealth for relationship work sessions, it is important that you are both/all in front of the camera at the same location for the online appointment. I understand that this may present scheduling or logistical concerns, however it is necessary as I often require my couples to interact with one another in real time during relational work.

In short: no. However, please read on to learn about how you may potentially be reimbursed for the cost of your sessions through your insurance provider.
I am an out-of-network provider. This means that I am not directly credentialed with any insurance network. Payment for the full fee of your session is due to me at the time of service. However, I can provide you with a superbill, which is an itemized list of all services you receive from me. The superbill will also contain additional information about your visit including my practice information, session code(s), and diagnostic code(s). You can then submit the superbill to your health insurance company. If you have out-of-network benefits, then they will reimburse you directly for part or all of your session fees.
It’s important to check with your insurance ahead of time to confirm that you have a plan that reimburses for out-of-network providers. You can either call them to find out, or utilize a third party service such as Reimbursify.

The federal No Surprises Act became effective Jan. 1, 2022. This law aims to help you (as a client) better understand your health care costs in advance of care and to minimize unforeseen or “surprise” medical bills.
The Good Faith Estimate provision of the No Surprises Act is designed to give you (a client) an estimate of how much you will be charged for the healthcare services you’ll be receiving, prior to your appointment.
Given that I am an out-of-network provider, you can expect to receive a Good Faith Estimate form from me, prior to starting therapy. The estimate provided in the document is subject to change based on your therapeutic needs, cancellations, etc.

I require at least 24-hours in advance for cancellations or rescheduling.
Cancellations and no-show sessions will be subject to a full fee charge if not received at least 24-hours in advance, and will be charged to your preferred credit card on file. This is necessary because a time commitment is made to you and is held exclusively for you.
If you need to cancel or reschedule an appointment, please either call me directly at (443)-863-8670 or email Hello@NoelleBenach.com.
I will be sure to confirm your cancellation, remind you of the cancellation policy, and provide you with rescheduling options.

In short, no.
I cannot accept “friend” requests from current or former clients on personal social networking sites such as Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, etc. I value your privacy as well as my own. Being “friends” on social media can compromise confidentiality and our respective privacy. It may also blur the boundaries of our therapeutic relationship. If you have questions about this, please bring them up in our next session.
You are welcome to “follow” or “like” content on my professional instagram account @NoelleBenach and/or Business Facebook Page for resources, therapy-related content, practice information, and event offerings.
